Science Fair!

Attention all Eagle Crest Scientists! Eagle Crest Elementary Science Fair is Coming!

TUESDAY, April 30, 2019

  • Science fair displays will be set up during the school day for classes to tour

  • There will be an evening “Open- House” for families from 5:00-6:00

5th Graders are required to participate.  All other students, Pre-school through 4th grade, are invited and encouraged to participate in an Individual or Classroom project.

Students/ classes may choose from 2 types of projects:

  1. Scientific Process Experiment:  Intermediate students are highly encouraged to do this type of project, as it is part of our science standards .   

Students should ask a question, hypothesise, and test with only one variable.

Examples include:  

  • How does humidity affect the growth of plants?

  • Which laundry soap cleans the best?

  • Which bubble gum blows the biggest bubble?

  1. Demonstration of a Scientific Principle:  This type of project provides kids a chance to show or demonstrate a scientific idea.

Examples include:

  • A display showing the different states of matter (solid/ liquid/ gas).

    1. An explanation of different classifications of rocks.

    2. A display of the life-cycle of a whale.
